Unika will be delivering district heating to the city of Ans

Unika is the first company of its size to implement an innovative and environmentally friendly heating solution. As a production company, we emit a lot of excess heat, which previously was let through by opening gates to remain a comfortable working environment. Prospectively, we can transfer the heat from our halls to the heating district of Ans city. Furthermore, we are able to control the indoor climate in all of our halls, so the temperature is stable at 24 degrees. Throughout the year, all surplus heat goes directly to Ans Fjernvarme Company, and even in such quantities that there will be enough to supply Ans City in the summer.

In addition, we are proud to have our work done by skilled local hands. Our main contractor is Solar Cooling, while our craftsmen, plumbers and electricians are exclusively locals.

Not only will the new heating solution repay itself in just 4-5 years, but the replacement is also extremely environmental-friendly, as we can now recover all surplus heat. In addition, it replaces our former energy sources; oil, gas and electricity, which were previously used to generate heat for the company. These are Unika's latest environmental-oriented initiatives, where our earlier changes on the green line include the introduction of solar cells and LED bulbs.

The new heating solution is expected to be in use already from week 44.
